CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Inter house contests: 
The entire school is divided into four houses namely Champak, Jasmine, Lotus and Rose. Inter house competitions are held and all the children are encouraged to participate in the following.

  • Drawing
  • Shloka recitation
  • Story telling
  • Debate
  • Fancy dress etc.

More then 800 to 1000 prizes are given. Other than this, several endowment prizes are set up and deserving and outstanding students are given cash prizes. Shields are given to the houses that get the highest points in sports, wall magazine and academic achievements.

COMPUTER TEACHING 
Students from I standard to X standard are educated in using the computers. Syllabus oriented computer education is provided to make them computer literates and also to supplement their classroom learning-teaching process. The computer center has a faculty of qualified and good teachers.

SPORTS AND GAMES 
The students participate in all the inter school sports meet and come out in flying colours. Many students have won prizes at the State level and have gone to the National level also, especially in badminton, swimming chess cricket & Tennis.

FINE ARTS 
“Kalavedi” is the cultural wing of the MES institutions. Programmes in music, drama and dance are arranged every month and parents and students are members of this academy and are encouraged to attend the programmes. Some of the gifted and budding artists of the school also perform in these programmes.

PROGRAMMES FOR PROMOTING NATIONAL INTEGRATION 
Various religious festivals like Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesha Chaturthy, Deepavali, Christmas, Ed-milad, Ramzan and Sankranthi and National festivals like Independence Day, Teachers Day, Childerns’ Day, Republic Day etc., are celebrated in the school. Through this children learn the significance of secularism and National Integration.

WALL MAGAZINES AND SCHOOL MAGAZINE 
Fortnightly wall magazines are brought out by the students’ house wise and are displayed on the notice board. These are judged by the parents and students. Shields are given to the house that brings out the best magazines, both in the primary as well as in the high school.
The school magazine is also brought out annually.

CLUB ACTIVITIES 
The primary section has six clubs namely Music, Drama, Science, Dance, Craft and Quiz. Club activities are conducted weekly and the club day is celebrated at the end of the second term, exhibiting the talents the children have gained. At the high school ‘Bhaskara Science Club’ and ‘Rachana Humanities Club’ activities are conducted every week.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION 
The old students take active part under the auspices of “Kishora Smrithi” in conducting inter school competitions annually, like debate, quiz, music, painting etc., In this connection a rolling shield and many prizes are instituted. Besides this, the alumni are actively associated in social welfare activities such as helping the various communities, providing assistants to victims of war, drought, floods and other natural calamities.

INTERACTION WITH PARENTS

  • A committee of parents, teacher representatives, H.M. and the Principal meets periodically to review and plan for future programmes to bring in improvements in the quality of education provided.
  • Parents are called individually and in groups to counsel with respect to their wards.
  • Parent – Teacher meetings are held periodically to bring a better understanding and co-ordination between the Parents and Teachers to help the students.

INTERACTION WITH STUDENTS 
Head girl, Head boy, Captains and Vice-Captains of the houses are elected by the students of the primary and high school. These representatives help in maintaining the law and order of the school and promoting the welfare of the students.

TIE UP WITH N.i E’s. 
N.I.E – Newspaper in Education has been introduced in the school. Different personalities from different fields visit and talk to students to expose them to outside world.
